Analyzing Task Types Used in Four High School English Textbooks in China

چکیده

In the past decade, many scholars conducted research concerning cultural content, policy changes, and other issues in field of EFL textbook evaluation China. However, a limited number studies shift their attention to task types used textbooks. This study employs Nunan’s (1999) taxonomy investigate how are presented four main government-approved English textbooks at high school level China use Pearson’s Chi-square test two stages examine whether any significant difference exists The findings reveal that macro level, linguistics tasks viewed most important type while domestic educators show mixed attitude toward rest types. Under closer scrutiny, some sub-task payed more than others different versions should raise concern because each exerts its unique effects on language learning. aim is evaluate quality spot potential problems these teaching materials.
